The Best Student Discount Websites

Now that September is here and Labor Day has passed, that familiar sense of anticipation fills the air. As students across the nation pack their bags, sharpen their pencils, and dive headfirst into a new academic year, the looming costs of textbooks, software, and essentials can’t be ignored. Fortunately, every cloud has a silver lining: Those coveted student discounts.

From laptops to fashion to meals out, these generous discounts are a financial boon for students. Here, we’re breaking down the top sites for student discounts, which not only ease the financial strain of academia, but also let students enjoy more for less.

The Best Websites for Student Discounts

There are hundreds of coupon code websites, and a plethora of individual companies offer student discounts, but there aren’t too many websites dedicated to aggregating student discounts. That’s why we wanted to make back-to-school shopping — and during-school shopping too — a little easier by zeroing in on the best sites for student discounts. Below you’ll find the top ones, listed in alphabetical order:

BrokeScholar

BrokeScholar currently has at least 965 active student discounts on their site, spanning everything from fashion to business services to software, like that only useful Spotify discounted membership when you’re working in the library at college. Besides dozens upon dozens of student discounts, BrokeScholar also offers a vast collection of scholarships, on both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Fastweb

Like BrokeScholar, fastweb is college scholarship site, which includes a section devoted to student discounts. Though there are fewer on offer compared to BrokeScholar, fastweb still has great discounts on the big names, like Nike
NKE
, Converse, Spotify, and Peacock Premium, among others.

SheerID

SheerID covers a lot more ground than just student discounts. It classifies its discounts by verification type: Employment, first responder, medical professional, military, student, and teacher. The main categories that SheerID has covered when it comes to student discounts are streaming and subscription services, mattress companies, clothing and apparel, and technology and software, such as discounts on Autodesk
ADSK
and SurveyMonkey.

StudentBeans

StudentBeans is a cool student discount site because they have a “Trending Now” feature, which shows the most popular discounts on a particular day. StudentBeans casts a wide net, offering student discounts on the usual suspects — fashion, food, stream services, for example — but also on entertainment events, such as discounts on music festival events and Major League Baseball (MLB) tickets.

StudentDiscount.com

StudentDiscount.com is an oldie but a goodie, having been founded back in 2008. Although the number of student discounts offered by the site is a bit more limited compared to others listed here, StudentDiscount.com still provides deals on some big-name brands, including Best Buy
BBY
, Amazon
AMZN
Prime, Lenovo, and Reebok, among others. They also have student discounts on key services for college students, such as GrubHub and Adobe Creative Cloud.

StudentDiscounts.com

StudentDiscounts.com has a very narrow focus. It specializes in student discounts on academic software. For instance, it provides major discounts on expensive enterprise-level products and services, such as IMB SPSS, which normally cost somewhere in the thousands. Another great example of the useful student discounts it has on college-related software is its deal on Microsoft Office 365 subscription.

StudentUniverse

StudentUniverse is a student discount website focused on travel. That means it offers primarily student discounts on flights, hotels, and rental cars. And the savings you can get are legit, such as up to 60% off hotel costs. Another convenience with StudentUniverse is that it is a free membership service, so there’s no subscription fee required to gain access to these student discounts.

UNiDAYS

UNiDAYS offers a broad range of student discounts, including food and drink, health and fitness, technology, as well as a special limited-time offers section. Alongside BrokeScholar, UNiDAYS’s collection of student discounts has the most in absolute number of the websites that make up our list. Each one of the categories on their site breaks down further; for example, the technology category breaks down into laptops and tablets, TV and audio, gaming, tech accessories, cell phones, and software.
